What animal she'd mate with. Interview with @EroticPhoebe #interview

Interview # 1 (of 2)

Tell us about yourself.

I grew up and spent my early adulthood in a rather repressed, religious environment where I grappled with the rigid expectations of my family and community. But fortunately, when I left my hometown at the age of 33, I experienced a second coming of age that ushered in a thirst for exploration, both intellectual and sexual. With encouragement from my partner and blog readers, I published my first novel featuring an intellectual and sex-positive heroine on 12-12-12, and I haven't looked back.

My novels feature compelling plots intertwined with passionate, fiery encounters. I believe that real, relatable characters can have even steamier sex than billionaires, rock stars, and the young and lithe-bodied. I also advocate for ethical non-monogamy as well as body-positive and sex-positive attitudes through my writing.

Cat person, dog person or 'other'? Details please.

I like both cats and dogs, but I don't think I'm mature enough to own a dog at this time. I have, however, been owned by several cats as an adult, all with names that start with Z. Zeus, Zuko, and Zero are no longer with us, but Zoe, Zelda and Zulu are.

Someday when I grow up, I'd like to adopt a dog. No idea if he or she will have a name that starts with Z.

If animals and humans could mate (physically AND legally!), what animal would you like to mate with? What would the babies look like?

This is kind of a disturbing premise, but I've never been one to shy away from disturbing things. I would undoubtedly combine my chromosomes with those of a dolphin. For one, I love to swim. Secondly, dolphins are intelligent, communicative and social creatures, just like me. Thirdly, they make blubber look good, a feat I have not yet managed to achieve.

A day at the beach or an hour at a bookstore? Details please.

I'd choose a day at the beach with a book. Just looking at books is not nearly as fun as delving into one, and what better backdrop than warm, delicious breezes and the rhythmic crashing of waves against sparkling gold shores?

My favorite beach, which I'm extraordinarily blessed to live near, is Assateague Island National Seashore. It gets a shout-out in many of my books, by the way, because it's just that awesome. Not only is it remote, natural and devoid of the commercialism of beaches farther north in Maryland and Delaware, but wild ponies live there too!
