Serious Round

Can you recall a particular scene that was painful or traumatic for you to write?

Writing about my suicide attempt was the most difficult part of my memoir to relive. I was alone in a hotel and my heart pounded the entire hour I nervously drafted the scene. I had to go to the local bar to calm myself down with a stiff drink afterwards.

What impact do you envision your book(s) having on your reader?

I want my readers to have more compassion for people struggling to get by in their respective communities. It's so easy to pass judgment on others, but this book will challenge their preconceived notions about the real impacts of poverty and cultural expectations on society's most vulnerable citizens.

Wacky Question

What was the last adult beverage you had?

Red wine! Specifically, Malbec. Whether it be Chianti, Pinot Noir, etc., 9 times out of 10, it will likely be red wine
