Once I opened this book, I did not want to close it. It was an emotional read. Imagine losing the love of your life to another. Not just having your heart broken, but ripped in half. A pain so devastating you don't want to live. This is what happens to Adelaide.

To help her, Lilia turns off her emotions. When this becomes too dangerous, Lilia and the rest of the gang wipe her memory completely of Nate.

I won't tell you anymore in case I give away too much. But I will give you what I loved. I loved that all the friends (Ellie, Alex, Selene, Griffin, Lilia, and Ramsey) worked together in each major battle they fought. I loved the message LOVE CAN CONQUER/OVERCOME ALL EVIL, that nothing/no one can come between LOVE. I am not just talking about romantic love, I am also referring to the love between family.

Black Orchid may be written for young adults, but it reads like a clean adult novel. I hated that I had to say good-bye to these wonderful cast of characters, but I liked the ending. (liked not loved because it was bittersweet)

I hope that Abigail Owen doesn't stop here with the Savatura series. Hugh and Lucy need a story. The entire Savatura line needs a beginning story. Maybe it's just me, but I don't want to say goodbye just yet.
