The world does not have enough book reviewers, and this becomes ever increasingly so as the number of published books continue to rise. But there are plenty of readers. What we need to do is bridge the gap a little.
So, if you like to read and are up for a little challenge, check out The Mad Reviewer Reading and Reviewing Challenge 2014. We supported the 2013 version, and that will continue in this new year. It's still not to late to sign up.
And although completing the challenge means reading 104 books, you can sign up at a different level, reading as few as 1 book a month (12 books this year), which even slower readers should be able to manage.
Is there an incentive?
Although I believe in a perfect world a reviewer should receive some compensation for their time, this just isn't the case and probably won't be for a long time ... if ever. However, that doesn't mean that there can't be some incentive.
Those who achieve a certain level on the challenge will be entered into a drawing which will take place on January 3, 2015.
