Whitley & Austin

Where Truth and Fiction Meet

by Parker Paige

THREE beautiful redheads - THREE Motives - ONE Murder

Tapping into the common wish to be someone else, if only for a short time, this suspense drama explores what happens when a woman, bored with her humdrum existence dyes her hair red and takes on the persona of her late sister.

After the murder of her beloved sister, a quiet and warmhearted legal secretary, Charlie Weiss, who works for the prestigious Whitley & Austin, is in search of an escape. A few sessions with her psychologist propel her to the realization that the excitement that she seeks is in a new life, the life of her late sister.

With a daring wish to continue the wild life of her late sister, she colors her hair red and dares to reinvent herself. And with this new persona comes a different type of experience, including becoming one of three redhead suspects to a murder.

Praise for Whitley & Austin

The author wrote in such a way that throughout the book I was constantly learning more about the main character and her situation; instead of revealing her personality at the very beginning, it was all infused in the entire book evenly. The situation she is in also spreads out over the entirety of the book. My mind was constantly working, always trying to see the available steps ahead as well as the ones that had already taken place. It's a thrilling murder mystery, one to be read late at night locked in your room while a thunderstorm takes place. Everything is held in such bone-chilling suspense! Who did it and why? At first Charlie (the main character) sounded slightly paranoid, demented, and deranged; did she commit the murder without consciously being aware of it? Sounds strange, but with the book it is impossible to rule anything out.

This is the definition of a good, suspenseful thriller book. I was hooked within the first chapter and I found it literally hard to put my kindle down after I started reading. The story is great and very original, definitely unlike any other that I have came across before and it's all expressed by very well-written creative writing. The book has just the right amount of details to make the characters seem like-like, but not to the point where it's over the top and could possibly take away from the suspense; it's a smooth read from start to finish and there weren't any chapters that I thought shouldn't have been included or needed any edits.

Parker Paige has written a spectacularly well-written novel that mixes murder, a classic whodunit plot and a little bit of a coming of age tale in one fun read.
