Humorous Sci-Fi: Alien Invasion of the Zombie Apocalypse by @FordForkum #review

Alien Invasion of the Zombie Apocalypse

Written by Ford Forkum

Genre: Science Fiction (Humor)

Book Synopsis

In a satirical combination of two end-of-the-world scenarios, a zombie plague is quickly followed by an alien invasion - in a time when humanity is already struggling with vampires.

Landing dead center at a college campus swarming with zombies, the aliens soon realize that their abduction mission is going to be quite a bit more complicated than they'd imagined. The presence of vampires only makes the situation worse.

Will the human race prevail or be forced to relocate to an alien planet? Is there any way to reverse the zombie plague? Is the plague contagious to aliens and can an alien be turned into a vampire? What if a vampire alien became a zombie, then was bitten by a radioactive spider and then possessed by the ghost of a robot werewolf? That last part doesn't happen in the story, but what if it did?

Find out what becomes of humanity in this hodgepodge of dystopian absurdity.

Mark Wood's Review

A bored, superior in their minds, alien race decides to invade the planet Earth and abduct a few humans as slaves. Not for any good reason, just as I say because they are bored. Unfortunately Earth is in the middle of a Zombie apocalypse so pretty soon the aliens come to the conclusion that they have bitten off more than they can chew...too late!

Throw in a few Vampires and what you get is a very silly but humorous short story!

There are a thousand and one reasons why I probably shouldn't like this story but you know what? I actually did! It was kind of funny in a second-rate Douglas Adams kind of way and very b-movie-ish but it all kind of comes together and just sort of...well, works.

The good news is that Ford Forkum keeps it short. Any longer and this tale would begin to unravel. It's never going to win any awards and never going to be that memorable in years to come, I will probably have forgotten all about it by next week, but it is okay for what it is which essentially is a very short and silly parody on the sheer dearth of zombie/ vampire books that have done the rounds the last few years.
